How to Record your Computer Screen with Youtube

There are plenty of reasons why you might want to record your computer screen, you might be making a video tutorial for your youtube channel, or you just want to record your game session and share it to your friends or anything else. Screen recording is useful and important not just for vloggers but for everyone else who might be interested in screencasting.

Screen recording is easy and there are many programs available on the internet to help you do it, some are free and some are not. All you have to do is acquire any of it, install and start recording, though this programs has different features with each other, its main purpose are the same, to give you the best quality output.

Speaking of "easy", do you know that you can record your screen without installing any programs? All you need to have is a browser and a youtube account. Yes, youtube has a live-streaming service feature that allows the user to have a real-time video recording on their channel and will also allow you to record your desktop screen with screenshare.

Here’s how to record your Computer Screen with YouTube.

Note: If its the first time you use the live-streaming feature, YouTube will require you to verify your phone number to enable the service.

1. Log on to your YouTube Account, click the Upload button in the upper left corner of the window and select Live Streaming and get started.

2. On the Events page. Select Events under the Live Streaming and create New Live Event

3. On the next window, you can now edit the basic settings and info of your event. Specify a name on it, add a description and tags if there's any, and select if its Public, Unlisted or Private then click the "Go live now" button to start recording.

4. You will now be prompted to open the Hangouts on Air page. You can click the camera icon to turn on/off webcam recording, same with the microphone icon, you can turn on/off the audio recording. On the top left side, select Screenshare button then you will be prompted another window where you choose what would you like to record in your screen, your entire desktop or any active window. Click the Start Screenshare button to share your screen and then click Start Broadcast to start recording.

Whenever you are done with the recording, click the Stop Broadcast button. YouTube will then automatically save the video in your account. You can now view, download or share your video.
